Wrist Bound
3' x 4' oil on panel, 2003. sold
After the interesting and controversial reception of Torso with Wrenches, I felt that I needed to further explore the ideas and questions which were raised. Wrist bound is a direct result of that exploration. Modeled by an amazing woman from EWU, wrist bound was an attempt to also show the model's strength.

Food for Thought
3’ x 4’ oil on panel, 2003.
At the end of my EWU program, I was the recipient of a great deal of criticism. Some of it was understandable, though I really felt the need to continue my explorations. I was barraged with suggestions to read "this pamphlet" or "that book" filled with politically correct goodness. Each reading claimed to be "food for thought". Finally I could take no more and responded with my own Food for Thought.
This painting is a return to the ideas explored in earlier work. The title comes from the idea of bondage play and the question of who really is in control...
